I say: The $7.00 per person fee is worth it. The trails are like adventure courses with high rope bridges. This adventure is not for anyone afraid of heights unless you are determined to overcome your fear in a safe environment.
Hiking Trails: As you hike along the old town roads, Creek Indian paths, and old water raceways, one can feel generations of the past envelope you. Hike along Snake Creek, explore the ruins of the paper mill and walk on actual water raceways. Trails range from mild to moderately strenuous.
Please be aware that we are NOT a Park. To explore our trail systems, one must be a registered guest either at the inn or on one of our adventure treks or at our RV park.
We DO NOT allow pets onto the property at any time. Please do not bring your pets!
If you wish to walk the trails and are not a registered guest, there is a $7 per person maintenance fee/ donation and you must sign in at the front desk! Proceeds go to keeping this historic area in pristine condition.
It is recommended to call ahead of time to ensure that the trails will be open the day you wish to come by.
Known for its extra-long zip line, this casual adventure resort is set on a conservation center in the Lost Gorge, 4 minutes' drive from US Route 27 Alternate.
Lodging ranges from unassuming rooms with deck access to rustic cottages and log cabins with fireplaces. Treehouse rooms with whirlpool tubs are also available. There's a rock climbing wall, a seasonal outdoor pool, an aerial adventure co
1. The Parks views: As stated on their web page this is not a park. The trails have great views especially from the bridges.
2. The Parks cost: Answer is $7.00 per person if you are not a registered guest. As a side note the lodge rooms are really great, and the breakfast that was included was really nice. If you don't like taxidermy you might not like the lodge dinning room though.
3. The Parks bathrooms: The bathrooms at the lodge where you pay your fee and get a map are very nice.
4. How long is the hike? Depending on where you go and what trail you follow it could be a mile or more. You can take a loop trail or a there and back depending on what you want.
5. The parks shopping and souvenirs: There is a nice gift shop by where you check in, next to the dinning area.
6. Does the park have wheelchair and stroller access? No
7. How helpful are the parks maps and markers? They are like most park maps and markers. There seems to always be places that need better markers and the maps could always be better, but I'm going to give a star anyway because I've yet to find anyplace that has a good map.
8. Is the park kid and dog friendly? Kids yes, dogs no.
9. Was there a uniqueness to the park? Yes the bridges were great and zip lines provide people screaming (roller coaster style) overhead so you don't feel alone in the woods and you can watch people kayak down the river as you walk the trail or from the bridge.
10. Was it worthwhile? Yes
