Hours: Everyday 9 AM–4 PM

The Railways Amenities: Answer is The train has two kinds of seating. The open air seating is very nice and cheaper. It has a shop car next to it where you can buy souvenirs, snacks drinks etc. Bathrooms are available on the train and at the pavilion at the rest stop where you can get off the train and eat or shop in town. The preferred seating offers drinks with free refills and some deserts and snacks included in the price. The seats are padded and the windows are glass. The open air seats have the advantage of all the seats face the window and you get a breeze from outside. The preferred seats have the advantage of being more comfortable and you aren't paying so much for drinks. They also include a photo and bag with logo (1 per 2 seats) which is nice if you are going as a couple.

This Railways rating is 9 out of 10 stars

The good, the bad, and the buggy, a short review of the Railway.

The good things about this railway is that it's a kind of unique thing to do, and it makes you imagine you've gone back in time to a more relaxing simple time.

The bad things about this railway is that it can be a little costly especially if you get a lot of snacks and drinks on the journey and your seated in the open air car. Also if you need to use the bathroom you may have to wait in line and the area is very small (like in a trailer or plane) so if your not a small short person it will probably be uncomfortable unless you can wait until the train stops and use the bathrooms at the pavillion.

The buggy I’m a bug’s favorite chew toy so how much did they love me? I didn't get any bites on the train or in town.

What Kind of Railway is this? It's just an old passenger train that has been refurbished and made like new again.

1. The Railways views: The view is really beautiful country side on one side of the train. On the other side you get forest views half the time and just the side of the hill at others. If you are sitting on the less scenic side of the train they have everyone switch seats on the way back so that everyone gets the best views either coming or returning.

2. The Railways cost: They change depending on if there is a layover, what seating you choose and what time of year you go. The price starts at about $52.00 a seat.

3. The Railways bathrooms: They are very small but clean.

4. How long is the walk? Answer is That depends on you. If you choose a trip with a layover you can walk around the town as much or as little as you like and the town of Blueridge where you get on the train is great with lots of shops etc.

5. The Railways shopping and souvenirs: You can buy souvenirs on the train or in stores where you get on or off the train.

6. Does the Railway have wheelchair and stroller access? Yes but the bathrooms on the train would be impossible to get a wheelchair into.

7. How helpful are the Railways maps and markers? None are needed.

8. Is the Railway kid and dog friendly? Kids yes, absolutely, but no dogs

9. Was there a uniqueness to the Railway? Yes, I'm sure it's like riding other trains in many ways, but going anywhere on a train is a great and unique experience.

10. Was it worthwhile? Yes, I would highly recommend it!

Bonus Questions

1. How safe was the Railway? Very safe

2. Is the Railway maintained well? Yes

3. What would I have brought or left behind if I went on the Railway again?

Maybe a backpack to put things in and be sure to dress for the weather especially if your on the open air car.

4. How far is this from Atlanta? About 2 hours

5. Spirit Animal for the Railway?

The trails spirit animal is selected by any animal I see at the railway or on my way to the railway. I find that looking for the day’s spirit animal makes my walk more fun and reminds me to stop and enjoy the beauty of my journey. Today’s spirit animal is: Canadian Geese.
