First Avenue Park – It's web site says: A 3.5 acre tract of property located along First Avenue just outside the historic Greenville/LaGrange historic residential district. The passive recreational area is a neighborhood park designed for play and exercise and includes covered pavilions, fenced playground area, grassed multi purpose fields, elaborate stonework, heavy landscaping, and a paved walkway trail system.

What Kind of Park is this? First Avenue park is a playground with a large grass multi use area. It has several gazebo's with picnic tables and a hand water pump. It also has a big playground and a walking trail that will become part of the linc trail when it is completed.

The first avenue park is beautiful and well maintained.

The park is free.

3. The Parks bathrooms:

The park has bathrooms that are very clean and always open to the left of the parking area.

4. How long is the hike?

The path around the park is- 3 laps =1/2 mile.

5. The parks shopping and souvenirs:

The park has no shops or souvenirs but is walking distance of down town Newnan.

6. Does the park have wheelchair and stroller access?

Yes.

7. How helpful are the parks maps and markers?

Park maps and markers are not needed. The walking path clearly loops around the park.

8. Is the park kid and dog friendly?

Yes it has a playground and at the back of the trail it has a pine straw doggie clean up area.

9. Is there a uniqueness about the park?

Yes it's different form other parks and has a real family friendly feel to it.

10. Was it worthwhile? Yes and no, I love this park but it is only worthwhile if you are in Newnan because of the 3x=1/2 mile. It is not worth a long drive if you want to hike or walk.
