The good the bad and the buggy. A short review of the park.
The good things about this park is that it's really beautiful and the birds just keep soaring over the trees. It was really peaceful watching them and the trail provided many great views. The bad things about this park is that their were a lot of stairs. I worried a little about the dogs feet because the stairs were metal but the dogs didn't seem to mind at all. the buggy I’m a bug’s favorite chew toy so how much did they love me? They didn't bother me at all.
What Kind of Park is this? A State Park
1. The parks views: There were a lot of great views from the top as well as on the way up. The old tower was also great but of course it was locked, they don't need hundreds of people going up and down the stairs.
2. The Parks cost: $5.00 for parking unless you have a yearly park pass.
3. The Parks bathrooms: You can use the bathroom at the visitor center or at one of the camp sites.
4. How long is the hike? see the trails above. We took the 1.5 mile loop.
5. The parks shopping and souvenirs: You can probably find what you need at the visitor center.
6. Does the park have wheelchair and stroller access? I'm sure it has access at the camp grounds but not to the trails.
7. How helpful are the parks maps and markers? Average. The maps are available at the visitor center and the trail was easy to follow.
8. Is the park kid and dog friendly? Yes but dogs have to be on a leash. Also remember the stairs. My dog was a little out of shape and laid down and spread out. He wasn't going another step until he rested. The trail also has lots of other dogs so no aggressive dogs please. The trail is narrow and the stairs could be tricky for a dog meet and greet.
9. Is there good internet service? Yes at the beginning of the trail I didn't think to try it later.
10. Was it worthwhile? Yes, absolutely
