Our Boardwalk Trail is a 1/2 mile long and provides an easy walk on a surface alternating between crushed stone and wooden boardwalk. It is flat with several benches, covered areas, and great views. There are also two new primitive trails that loop back to the main trail.
1. Views: They have educational signs about animals and plants in Georgia posted throughout the trail. The wetlands are very beautiful so I give it a star.
2. Cost: Free no parking fee.
3. Bathrooms: There are 2 bathrooms one in the education center and one by the parking lot. The education center is temporarily closed for renovation.
4. How long is the hike?: The boardwalk hike is 1/2 a mile long, if like me you want a longer hike include the two primitive trails that loop back to the boardwalk trail
5. Gift Shop: There was no gift shop but I think you could buy some things from the Education Center if it were open.
6. Wheelchair and stroller access?: Yes the trail was flat and root free
7. Maps and markers: Yes to both but most of the markers were Educational so the map provided is a must.
8. Kid and dog friendly?: Yes to kids, CERTIFIED service dogs are welcome on 6' leash no other dogs including therapy dogs are allowed.
9. Was there a uniqueness about the park?: Although it had many similarities to other Georgia nature preserves it was unique in some ways and I'd defiantly recommend going if you are in the area. The park had educational signs about the habitat throughout the board walk trail and although I'm not sure, I think it's one of the longest boardwalk trails in Georgia.
10. Was it worthwhile?: Yes! Loved it.
