The Parks web page says: Rock City will amaze you; it’s in our nature. Only six miles from downtown Chattanooga, Rock City is 1700 feet above sea level, with a 100-foot waterfall that cascades down the mountain and the famous Swing-A-Long bridge that spans nearly 200 feet. This self-guided tour gives visitors a birds-eye view from high atop Lookout Mountain. Rock City’s other features include Lover’s Leap, where you can “See Seven States,” the Fairyland Caverns, and multiple dining options. In addition, Rock City hosts numerous special events and festivals year-round.
What Kind of Park is this? I'm not sure how to answer. It's a unique park that makes you feel like you're in some kind of lord of the rings fantasy land. The fairyland caverns are a little (or a lot) cheesy but the rest of the park is WOW worthy.
1. The parks views: Great! Go to the web page to get a preview then go see it for yourself. It's worth the money.
2. The Parks cost: $21.95 per person.
3. The Parks bathrooms: They are clean and near the entrance.
4. How long is the hike?
You can make it as short or long as you like, but my son and I spent about an hour and a half there and walked about 4 1/2 miles.
5. The parks shopping and souvenirs:
The gift shop has something for everyone and the park has restaurants by the main entrance. I don't know how good they were because it was over budget after the entrance fee.
6. Does the park have wheelchair and stroller access? No
7. How helpful are the parks maps and markers?
Average. Not great or bad.
8. Is the park kid and dog friendly?
Kids yes defiantly, but no dogs.
9. Is there a uniqueness about the park?
Yes, it's awesome. There is no where else like it.
10. Was it worthwhile? Yes, absolutely!
