The good the bad and the buggy. A short review of the park.

The good things about this park is that it has plenty of beautiful views. It's also a great place to fish or take graduation or wedding pictures or just sunrise or fall colors photos. The bad things about this park is that despite a book I got that listed it as a trail it really doesn't have a trail. You can walk around the mill and get about a mile of walking done but no trail so don't waste time looking for one. the buggy I’m a bugs favorite person to bite so on a scale of 1 meaning I didn’t get bitten to 10 meaning I was a mosquito, gnat etc. chew toy, this park is a 3. I got followed by a bee and a fly tried to get in my car when I left, but I didn't leave with any bites.

The Parks web page says:

William T. Glower built the current building in 1907. The Starr's Mill site also included a cotton gin and a dynamo that produced electricity for the nearby town of Senoia. The turbine mill ran up until 1959, and although not operating today, it is now restored and owned by the Fayette County Water System. The Fayette County Water System purchased the historic Starr's Mill in February 1991. This purchase included the mill house, dam, and approximately 16 acres of land. It is located on Highway 85 south of Fayetteville and will continue to be used for fishing, family gatherings, and picnics.

  • Fishing

  • Free Parking on Site

  • Picnic Area

  • Public Restrooms (The restroom is a porta potty that is clean for what it is, and just one not plural. It's located within view of the parking lot to the left of the mill.)

What Kind of Park is this? It is a beautiful historic landmark.

1. The parks views:

5. The parks shopping and souvenirs:

You can take pictures, and it is near shopping and restaurants.

6. Does the park have wheelchair and stroller access?

Answer is Well...parts of it might be bumpy going but the mill and waterfall are visible from the parking lot so it can be done.

The markers are all historic information or park rules. Maps are not needed.

8. Is the park kid and dog friendly?

9. Is there tent and RV camping?

No

10. Was it worthwhile? Not for hiking, but for photography OH YEA!
