Address: Arrowood Rd, Tyrone, GA 30290
The park was built wholly with private funds and is located in the center of the Town of Tyrone. Its purpose is to pay tribute to all who have served, both living and dead. It is very well maintained and has memorial pavers donated by veterans families. A place for quiet reflection.
What Kind of Park is this? This is a small Memorial Park built to honor Veterans.
1. The Parks views: It has a nice gazebo and sculpture of boot and guns as well as flags. It also has rose bushes and the grounds are well maintained.
2. The Parks cost: It's Free
3. The Parks bathrooms: There is a park (Shamrock Park) just down the street that has one but this park does not.
4. How long is the hike? This is not a park with a hiking or walking trail. It does have paved sidewalks that extend from one end to the other. The sidewalk is maybe 1/4 mile there and back
5. The parks shopping and souvenirs: This is not that kind of park. How erver you can go to the dollar general just down the road.
6. Does the park have wheelchair and stroller access? Yes, but again not much of a walk.
7. How helpful are the parks maps and markers? They are not necessary or available.
8. Is the park kid and dog friendly? Yes although it's not a playground type of park and the general rules for dogs apply - leash and clean up.
9. Was there a uniqueness to the park? Yes, it was obviously built to remind us of the sacrifices made by Veterans and it's a very peaceful park.
10. Was it worthwhile? No, It serves it's purpose very well, but it wasn't built with hiking or walking trails in mind.
